In Luke chapter 12, Jesus says something shocking:
8 “I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. 9 But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God.
It is shocking because there is no middle way - there is no sitting on the fence.
Either we acknowledge Jesus before other people, or we don't. Jesus doesn't give us a third option of a lifetime-of-keeping-silent.
But how amazing will it be to have Jesus calling your name before the angels in heaven. "This one's with me".

Sitting on the fence is easy, so is pew warming. That's why so many fences and pews are weighed down with heavy numbers of backsides upon them. What is hard is choosing to follow and to commit to efforts that are demanding.
It's easy to pop along to a service or bible study but not contribute or appply new knowledge; it's hard to become part of a community and to give up independence.
It's not so hard to encourage one another with meaningful time, conversation and more importantly listening to one another rather than the noise of the 'rat race'. After all, time is the one thing we can't buy, change or take back.
Stick to the narrow road, and the thorny tree.
